Gnome Moving Picture

A clockwork animated picture, C.1880 by Schoenhut of Germany. The picture features a removable picture frame for advertising purposes, probably used in a cafe or restaurant. In good original condition with very few repairs evident. There is a later musical movement playing the drinking song from the opera “La Traviata”.
