Made in Germany, circa 1900. The clockwork revolving stand works very smoothly, with a selector for music or silent turn. The music is of four tunes, all original base, feet, cast iron socket, key etc.
Some damper noise, and the pressed metal cover has signs of age. Overall it is in good original condition and completely charming in use.
Originally these stands would turn quite sizable trees which could revolve to the music unencumbered by an electric wire to the fairy lights. The tree lit by candles and revealing its various decorations as it turned.
Price £695.
