Musical Windmill
This charming scene of a couple dancing beside a windmill was made in Paris in 1890 by Phalibois.
Made of gessoed papier mache, painted card and twigs. In exceptional original condition for this fragile type of automaton.
The 3 people have bisque heads and their original silk clothes. On winding, by pulling the cord, the sails turn and the onlooker leans forward to look at the young couple dancing to the music box playing inside the base.
