Revolving Musical Tree Stand
Made in Germany, circa 1900. The clockwork revolving stand works very smoothly, with a selector for music or silent turn. The music is of four tunes, all original base, feet, cast iron socket, key etc.
The interior dimensions for the tree socket are 5.75cm diameter and 9cm deep.
Ebonised wooden base, the metal cover has some signs of its age.
Originally these stands would turn quite sizable trees which could revolve to the music unencumbered by an electric wire to the fairy lights. The tree lit by candles and revealing its various decorations as it turned.
